Private & Third‑Party Funded Therapy

We offer privately funded therapy for individuals and families seeking mental health counselling, emotional regulation support and wellbeing‑focused therapeutic intervention.

Private Fees:

Individual therapy: $200 per 50‑minute session
Couples therapy: $300 per 50‑minute session
Family therapy: $300 per 50‑minute session Family therapy sessions cannot be claimed under a Mental Health Care Plan.

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP:

Session fee: $200
Medicare rebate (As at 01/07/2026): $89.50
Out‑of‑pocket fee: $110.50

Third‑Party Funded Therapy

We accept referrals from:

Private health insurers
Case management organisations
Employer‑funded wellbeing programs
Other external funding bodies. Eg. Melbourne City Mission's Family Reconciliation Mediation Program (FRMP).

Fees for third‑party funded therapy follow the same structure as private therapy unless otherwise arranged.

NDIS‑Funded Supports

We provide NDIS‑funded therapeutic supports under:

Behaviour Support - This includes Functional Behaviour Assessments, Interim Behaviour Support Plans, Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans and ongoing behaviour intervention.
Capacity Building – Improved Relationships
Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living
Early Childhood Supports
Supports in Employment (Finding and Keeping a Job)

All NDIS-funded sessions are charged at the current year’s NDIS Price Guide rates, including provider travel for outreach appointments.

Forensic Services

We provide forensic therapeutic interventions for individuals addressing offending behaviour (general, sexual, violent or family violence) as part of court conditions or orders.

Individual forensic intervention: $300 per 50‑minute session (Minimum of 8 sessions; treatment length varies depending on complexity.)

Travel

NDIS‑Funded Appointments:

Travel is charged in accordance with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, including provider travel time and kilometres where applicable.

Private & Third‑Party Appointments:

Travel for privately funded outreach appointments is charged at the hourly rate of $200. A minimum travel fee of $100 (30 minutes) applies to all outreach sessions.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice via email (info@courageousminds.com.au) or phone (0481 830 187). The full session fee applies if less than 48 hours’ notice is provided.

Payments

We offer the following payment options:

Invoice sent to your email

Invoices and payments may appear as “Halaxy” on your bank statement, as Halaxy is our secure practice management system.

Referrals

Referrals may be made by:

Yourself or a family member (with your consent)
Your GP
Other professionals

All referrals are reviewed by our team to ensure the service is the best fit for your needs, particularly for NDIS‑funded supports.

You may be contacted to discuss your circumstances and the type of support you are seeking so we can provide appropriate, tailored care.

During your first session, we will explore your goals and establish the outcomes you hope to achieve. Session frequency will be planned according to your needs and therapeutic goals.

Comprehensive psychosocial assessment reports

Treatment reports
Letters of service, attendance or participation

Report fees start at $500 and vary depending on treatment length and complexity. Letters start at $50.
